Welcome
The premise/foundation of this Web site can be summarized by the four
quotations below. Indeed, they are absent of any explicit mention of food
and/or nutrition but nonetheless are (a good starting point) key in
order to begin to reframe your/our mind-set so that you/we start to
examine nutritional material with an openness as opposed to habitually
defensive (conspiracy) reactive states.
"Strive to cultivate your intelligence, and to express better, bigger and superior thoughts on all matters about what you may think."
Bob Proctor
"Never look to society as a model of functional behavior and paradigms."
Dr. Bruce Goldberg, Karmic Capitalism
"There is so much good in the world, that it can outbalance the evil, therefore you can go on thinking more constructive and good thoughts everyday about yourself, your fellow man, life and all natural things, to the constant enrichment of your mind and the improvement of your whole being."
Bob Proctor
Embedded within these is the belief/wish that we are willing to accept
that we alone are responsible for the lifestyle choices we make; either
consciously or unconsciously. But it is important that we keep in the
forefront of our minds that:
The body is self healing
The body is self regulating
The body is self repairing
The body is self sustaining

Can a Single Ingredient Make Food Healthy?
August 2008: Official Introductory Topic
A rainbow of topics can be explored pertaining to 'Food and Nutrition'. This first newsletter will take broad brush-strokes, lightly touching upon topics that sometimes create undue anxiety for the layperson. When examining the numerous players involved in the 'global' industries of food and nutrition, it is no wonder confusion arises and conspiracy theories abound.
However, at the core we can be found guilty of basically giving our power away and acting like helpless victims. 24/7 our bodies are sending us signals (from minor physical discomforts to full-blown diseases), telling us they wish to regain homeostasis. It is amazing the lip-service we give to such sayings as 'the body is an incredible machine' …
This downward cycle will continue until we acknowledge that we ultimately own the power to change our habitually destructive lifestyle choices. I guess when we get sick and tired of being sick and tired we will be ready to change. I am sure you have heard all this before. There is a flip-side to the coin of unconscious eating lifestyle choices. Depends if you are sick and tired of being . . .
These two videos (Dr. Dean Ornish: The World now eats (and dies) like Americans & The homogenization of foods around the world) were chosen, first: to illustrate homogeneity in the world diet (eating patterns). And secondly: again, to raise awareness about what comprises the majority of the foods we consume each and every day. How this ultimately reflects in the lack of diversity of nutrients we are putting in our bodies and expecting them to run smoothly.
First, let's relieve ourselves of the pretense that the production and manufacturing of fake foods -- or whole foods, for that matter -- is done 100% from the heart AND ultimately with our health in mind. If you are getting your foods close to the source, then you are very well ahead of the game.
In present-day nutrition, we see more and more Nutritional Science and Nutritionism taking a reductionist approach towards foods. This means they are not looking at 'whole' foods but rather dissecting them into bits and pieces, then promoting isolated/individual nutrients (macronutrients, micronutrients) for health benefits to the exclusion/detriment of the synergism of nutrients. (Vitamin E in olives)
Taking advantage of this exclusivity of nutrients is the food processing industry. They create products and advertisements making grandiose claims that their fact/junk/plastic foods contain this one specific nutrient and then pass them off as "health foods. In industry jargon/language these added nutrients are called 'functional' or 'nutraceuticals'." I encourage you to read Twinkie, Deconstructed by Steve Ettlinger.
We, 'unconscious' consumers, want to wholeheartedly believe fake/plastic foods having one specific nutrient somewhere in their chemically-loaded ingredients is going to make the food healthy -- healthier and therefore easier to digest. Included are two definitions of digestion. The former, viewing it from a global perspective, while the later explains it from the cellular level.
"The function of digestion is to break
down foods into basic components
for the cells to use for energy, as building
materials and catalysts."
-Elizabeth Lipski
or
"All a cell does with food is strip it of its
solar radiation or life force and
discard the rest."
- Peter Ragnar
Whatever you chose as the correct processes involved in digesting foods, we do have the choice to take positive 'action' steps to alter our self-defeating paradigms. We are all involved in at least one 'group' consciousness (environment) to the detriment of our health.
This reductionist approach toward foods might have brought up the question pertaining to supplements that do contain one nutrient to the exclusion of others. Please refer to the section on supplements within this website.
Also intricately intertwined within this rainbow, are the Agri-businesses (driven by technology and 'food' economics for profit) who view plants, animals and fruits as stark commodities. They are replicating the pre-modern city by artificially designing/creating an "urbanization of the world's livestock." Forcing them to eat (thousands of gallons of liquefied fat, protein, liquid vitamins, synthetic estrogen, antibiotics [rumensin and tylosin] and corn), an unnatural diet that affects all of us in the food chain. This artificiality also applies to vegetation (fruits and vegetables) in the form of monoculture. An example of this would be growing acres upon acres of corn to the detriment of biodiversity.
The reduction of biodiversity worldwide as seen in the previous videos leads us to the hotly contested topic of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO). Within this are the geneticists who, in simple terms, work with altering genes of plant and animal forms. There are people who believe humans, like animals and plants, are adaptive and will be able to align positively with this new genetic makeup of life forms.
In these times of changing consciousness, people are well aware of bias in scientific studies. If we cannot get unbiased answers from 'supposedly' infallible and incorruptible scientists, then whom do we get them from? Simply from . . . YOURSELF.
Your body does not lie to you. It constantly strives/wants/seeks homeostasis. Even in/at our most corrupted state of lifestyle choices, the body is seeking homeostasis 24/7. We must start looking/viewing disease in another perspective; warning signal(s). First these signals begin as little aches and pains of one sort or another and then when they are continually ignored, the body decides to turn up the volume (manifest) until you no can longer ignore it. There must be a time when we stop seeking ready-made answers from the outside and go inside trusting and knowing that our body won't lead us astray.
What are the best ways to curtail our over-consumption of high-calorie, nutrient-poor foods? Or even whole foods? It would be a great step forward if we understood that the "life [energy] in foods gives us life [energy]". (Lipski) It is well documented that cells fed pure whole foods (fruits, vegetable, grains, and animals) will require less food in the long run to function at optimal levels.
As stated in the initial paragraph, there is a rainbow of topics one can explore pertaining to 'Food and Nutrition'. These and other topics will be covered in this Website with the sincere belief that our self-defeating paradigms toward food, nutrition and health will be changed one step at a time.
